A community in Settle have been slashing the cost of their electricity by giving their neighbours cheap excess power. This works by matching up the residents’ energy usage to local generated electricity, whether that’s through a community wind turbine or maybe a business with solar panels. And it’s usually cheaper than if you were buying it from the national grid. The energy club keeps profits in the local community and helps to encourage more people to get solar panels to help Settle.
