An out-of-diocese talk by the Chair of the Leeds Commission, John Battle – but included here especially for those in the NW enclaves of the Diocese.
John will talk about the relationship between prayer and action. He will draw analogies from the ruins of Kirkstall, a Cistercian Abbey in Leeds and Armley Remand Prison – following Thomas Merton’s theme of the relationship between contemplation and action.
The talk will be introduced by Bishop Paul Swarbrick.
This event will require audience participation and group work.
There is limited seating so please book as early as possible.
We anticipate that the talk will be well attended. Parking may be an issue. It would be kind if you are able to use the St Clare’s car park so as to leave space in the Xaverian Centre car park for those with mobility problems.
St Clare’s car park is 0.2 mile or 4 minutes walk from the Centre on Sharoe Green Lane, Fulwood.
