This event is an opportunity to experience stories, talks, and music on the story of David Oluwale, and to write, speak, and share your personal response.

Remembering OluwaliDuring this unique and intimate workshop Leeds Library patron and world-class author Caryl Phillips, who grew up in Leeds, will introduce literary and poetic responses to the David Oluwale story and share his own writing. You will be introduced to the history of David Oluwale by sociologist and Secretary to the #RememberOluwale charity in Leeds, Max Farrar, who has long been researching Oluwale’s life and death, alongside Emily Zobel Marshall, lecturer in Postcolonial Literature at Leeds Becket University, and member of the #RememberOluwale Board.
