Leeds Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission seeks to be a visible sign for justice and peace in the Diocese and the wider community. Our work is based on Gospel Values and Catholic Social Teaching.
Leeds Justice and Peace Commission seeks to identify and raise awareness of injustice and their root causes, whether they occur locally or abroad, in order to foster and encourage social change for a better world.
As Christians we believe in the dignity of human beings and the rights of people to live in peace. We take action on the most pressing issues facing our communities, such as climate change, racism and poverty.
Mission Statement: Based on Gospel Values and Catholic Social Teaching we seek to be an active witness to justice and peace in the Diocese of Leeds and wider community.
Aim: We will commit ourselves to seek out, name and raise awareness of injustices and analyze their root causes, and to engage in prophetic collective action.
