I attended an event last week recognising small groups and charities in Leeds.  A lovely afternoon meeting a wide network of people but very, very hot in the Banqueting Suite at the Civic Hall!

Lots of new connections were made and hopefully some volunteer opportunities for SPARK members in the future.  The focus was on strengthening local communities and ways to make Leeds more inclusive and connected. There will be events we can promote to our members as part of the Leeds-400 over summer, which celebrates 400 years since the Charter of Leeds. https://www.leeds.gov.uk/campaign/leeds-400

Lord Mayor Stephen Holroyd

This event highlighted the contribution volunteers and charities make in the city – the current Lord Mayor Stephen Holroyd presented a framed certificate to each of the charities and small groups – so SPARK Social Justice now has a framed certificate to hang on the wall of the J&P office!
